Happy July!! I don’t know about you but July 1st crept up on me and I was not ready :P. I’m writing this an hour before midnight and I’m counting it as a win! It’s been one of those weeks where I feel like I’ve just been playing catch up. You know what I’m talking about?
This is kind of the perfect set up for what our theme for July is – the Virtuous Woman. I’ve been reading about the Virtuous Woman of Proverbs 31 for almost 2 decades and like a lot of other women, I either think

Tell me I’m not the only one. This passage (Proverbs 31:10-31) is a beautiful depiction of a woman who lives her life with purpose and intention. She lives well and stays focused!! What’s intimidating is the fact that my life looks nothing like hers.
*heavy sigh*
But here’s the thing about these verses – they should inspire us to better living, not shame us because of our current state of affairs. There are solid life principles to be learned from these verses! Melissa Ringstaff at A Virtuous Woman wrote a great post about called 10 Virtues of a Proverbs 31 Woman. As you can gather from the title, there’s a handy list of virtues or characteristics that a virtuous woman possesses. And it’s not a rocket science list. It’s really just a breakdown of what a wise purposeful, productive lifestyle looks like (it’s the perfect ending to the book of Proverbs where wisdom is personified as a woman!). A life that is guided by the wisdom of the Lord will function with faithfulness, humble service, healthy living, stewardship and industry in the same way the Spirit of God in us bears fruit like gentleness, love, kindness, patience and self-control.
There is too much to cover in just one month of scripture writing so I had to be selective. In the scripture writing plan, you’ll notice some color-coded topics. I picked a topic to focus on each week of July. I prayerfully think about each of these themes as you write the scriptures. I also invite you to read Melissa’s blog post and think about what virtues need most cultivating in your life (or maybe you need help in all 10 areas like I do!).
I’m so excited to spend some time working through this theme with you! I hope you’ll be blessed as we explore what it means to be women who follow Jesus in everything we do!
Feel free to download the scripture writing graphics below! And at the time of this posting, I don’t have a playlist quite yet! I’ll be working on it over the weekend and should have one soon!!
