Happy New Year!
I can’t believe it’s already 2017! The new year means that Steven and I are starting our year-long reading journey. It’s time to start the Couples Reading Challenge! If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, you can check out the Challenge page HERE.
January – Spiritual Growth/Inspiration
We all know how a good, productive morning can positively impact the rest of the day. The same can be said about a new year. Starting the year off on the right foot can have a lasting impact in the months to follow–beginning the challenge with the theme of Spiritual Growth/Inspiration was a no-brainer.
Our Book Selection: The Life That Wins by Watchman Nee
This is a book Steven read almost ten years ago and recommended to me when we first started dating. I bought a copy shortly after he told me about it and started awhile later but have since not read the whole thing. I did really enjoyed the little bit I read and want to finish it since he counts it as one of his favorites.
Focus Word of the Month: FOCUS
January is the time when we’re getting over the hustle and bustle of the holidays, settling into the next 12 months, finding our bearings and figuring out what our priorities should be. With that in mind, we chose to highlight the need to really focus not only on what we want to accomplish this year but also focus on giving God the space to speak to us about what He wants us to do this year.
Activity of the Month: BIBLE MEMORIZATION
In keeping with the theme, Steven and I are going to challenge ourselves to memorize some scripture. We haven’t chosen the verses yet but we’re going to try for one per week. It’s not a lot but with all that’s going on this month, we figured we’d stay on the conservative side.
What are you planning on reading in January? I’d love to read about it in the comments! If you’re blogging through this challenge too, you can link your post below!
